Blossom

“EVERY FLOWER THAT BLOOMS HAS TO GO THROUGH A WHOLE LOT OF DIRT”

You don’t know the struggle of baking until you’ve switched a stand mixer on high… with two pounds of powdered sugar in the bowl! I know what you’re wondering. Was it more fun cleaning powdered sugar off the walls, or off our tiny baker (who just happened to be standing next to the mixer)? None of this was particularly fun. However, we learned to start the mixer on the lowest speed and gradually increase the speed. Humble beginnings…

This year has been powdered-sugar messy—we learned a lot of lessons the hard way. Still, I wouldn’t change a thing. We are enjoying this journey and pushing forward. We are more prepared with each day. Nothing well worth getting arrives uncomplicated.

“SURROUND YOURSELF WITH PEOPLE THAT ALLOW YOU TO BLOSSOM”

Eden has become more independent in the bakeshop. It’s bittersweet to discover that she no longer needs so much of my help, but I am super proud of her. I’m learning to give her the space she needs to blossom; the autonomy to be creative, test her limits, and make mistakes. We learn by doing. But first we have to be given that opportunity.

I am sincerely grateful to you, our dear friends of the bakeshop. Thank you for continuing to choose us for your special baking needs. Every time you return, you give us the space we need to refine our craft and Blossom. Thank you so much! ❤️
